 How to get to Treble Cone 

  • From Wanaka:

Treble Cone is a 29km/35min scenic drive along the shores of Lake Wanaka.

Wanaka is renowned for having access to more lift serviced terrain and vertical than any other South Island ski destination.

Best bits about Wanaka:
-Breathtaking views from the lakefront of Mt Aspiring and the Southern Alps.
-Plenty of personal space
-Step out of the tourist traffic
-Enjoying an apres ski beer overlooking the lake in the afternoon sun.

  • From Queenstown:

A 100km/90min drive via the historic Crown Range.

  • From Christchurch:

5hr drive or 1hr direct flights available to both Wanaka and Queenstown.

  • From Australia:

Direct flights to Queenstown and Christchurch from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

  • How much will it cost?
    $269 per person including flight, lift pass and mountain shuttle.
    $189 per person including flight and mountain shuttle.
             
  •  How do I book? 
    1. Through you nearest Information Centre or direct on Ph (03) 44 222 07 by  2100 (9pm) the night before.  Space may be availabale on the day, if you call at 0800 in the morning.
    2. On the web at http://www.glenorchy.net.nz/,  24 hours before the trip only
  • What do I need to know about booking?
    We need 4 people (or equivelent price) booked for the next day to confirm.
    Until those numbers are confirmed booking is on a standby basis.
    Our cut off is 9pm the night before. If we don't have sufficient numbers to schedule a service all customers will be contacted at that time by text or call.
    We can take bookings after that time provided we have minimum numbers
  • Can I take my ski gear on the plane?
    Certainly. We ask that skis are securely paired together and any loose straps from snowboards tied down. For your safety, hard ski boots cannot we worn on the plane and must be carried separately.
  • What information do you need to make a booking?
    1. We need to know the number of people,
    2. Where you are staying and room number.
    3. A cell phone contact to a member of your party (if possible)
    4. If you require transportation to and from airport (additional cost of $15 per person)
  • What is your morning schedule?
    Weather check at 8.00am.  Clients Check -In time at Queenstown Airport Desk is 8:40am.  Pick ups start at 8.00am. If clients are making their own way to the airport please be at the Glenorchy Air desk in the terminal (close to the baggage claim) by 8.15am.   Limited transportation is available (to and from Central Queenstown accommodation) at an additional cost of $15 per person, round trip.
  • How long is the flight and what do we see?
    The flight is 12-15 minutes flying to Treble Cone airstrip
    We fly over Arrowtown on our way out of the Wakatipu basin and then through the Motutapu Valley with views of the Skippers and Cardrona ranges either side before touching down in the Matukituki Valley.
  • How do I get to the mountain?
    When we land at the base of Treble Cone the mountain shuttle service picks you up. The shuttle trip takes between 10-15 minutes up the 7km access rd.
  • What time do you return?
    Our scheduled return is to leave the mountain at 4pm.
    However the shuttle runs from 2.30pm and with the agreement of ALL the parties we can return earlier.
    Chartered flights can schedule specific returns outside of this time.
  • When do you make a weather call?
    7.30am in the morning and Glenorch Air will make a decision  if they are flying or not flying.
  • How do we know whats happening?
    Either call us on 44 222 07 or if we haven't heard from you by 7.45am we will text or call you if we have your details. Our phones are answered until at least 9pm seven days a week.
